Consider These Factors When Looking For A New Toilet Bowl

If you need a new toilet, there are several things you need to consider. Although it may not look like it, it is possible to get the wrong toilet if you are not keen. To avoid being stuck with an unsuitable toilet, you should have a list of requirements for your new toilet.

Singapore has a range of toilet bowls, and shopping for one can be time-consuming. However, if you have an idea of what you want, you will have an easier time choosing the ideal toilet.

Size Of Toilet Bowl

At a glance, toilet bowls appear to be the same size, especially if they are not designed specifically for children. You can get toilet bowls that are 4, 6, 8, or 10 inches wide. The height of toilet bowls also varies. The standard toilet height is 43 inches. However, toilets have a height of 38cm – 71cm.

Before buying a toilet bowl, you need to know the ideal size. You don’t want to end with a toilet bowl that is too small or too big for your bathroom. Request a professional for guidance if you don’t know how to determine the ideal size since accurate measurements are necessary for toilet installations.

Consider The Style

Toilet bowls are available in two main styles, round and elongated. Elongated toilet bowls are usually preferred. However, if you have a small room, a round toilet bowl is ideal. Besides the size of the room, you also need to consider your bathroom design and decor.

Although the toilet bowl designs are limited, you have greater flexibility when it comes to the toilet tank. You can opt for a two-piece toilet, where the tank is bolted on top of the bowl. The other is the one-piece toilet where the toilet bowl and tank are attached.

You can also choose a wall-mounted toilet bowl if you want to introduce a dramatic effect in your bathroom. This toilet is easy to clean. Unfortunately, it is more expensive than the regular toilets.

You also need to confirm that your wall is thick enough to support the mounted toilet and the tank. The downside is, if ever there is a maintenance issue in the future, you may need to rip off your wall.

The Type Of Flushing System

The toilet flushing systems vary, and you may need to consider this when buying a new toilet in Singapore. Some of the common toilet flushing systems include;

  • Gravity Flush System. This flushing system relies heavily on gravity. The water moves from the tank, which is at a higher position than the toilet bowl.
  • Single Flush System. This toilet system has one flush system for liquids and solids. You have no control over the quantity of water to use since the water will be released when you turn the lever.
  • Dual Flush System. In this system, the toilet has two flush systems. One that releases a small amount of water, and another which releases more water. This system helps conserve water since you only use the maximum amount of water per flush when necessary.
  • Tornado Flush System. This flush system is one of the latest in the market. Two or three nozzles are positioned in the toilet ball. So when water comes from the tank, it violently swirls like a tornado.

These are some of the things you need to consider when buying a new toilet. Since each household is unique, you need to pick the most suitable toilet for yours.
